In Donkey Kong Country 3, players take control of Dixie and Kiddy Kong, searching for the missing Diddy and Donkey. Expanding on the platform style of the series, DKC3 delivers more fun than you can throw a barrel at.

The overgrown baby ape, Kiddy Kong, features a rolling attack much like Donkey did in the first installment, along with the ability to skip across water. Dixie returns with her hair-slowfall technique. The mix of new and old brings some welcome variety to single and multiplayer sessions.

Exploring the map has taken on a new life. Rather than use fixed paths, you can rent boats and sail off to unexplored regions on your own this time. Many hidden levels, secret treasures, and mini-games abound in the uncharted waters, rewarding your curiosity.

Overall, this game is a shining jewel in the SNES collection. The difficulty presents a solid challenge for the dedicated player, the graphics are the expected high quality pre-rendered delight, and the upbeat soundtrack will keep you bouncing on enemies for hours on end.
