The SNES version of Choplifter III is very different to the game released for the Game Boy and Sega Game Gear hand-helds. Your objective remains to rescue as many hostages as you can, however there seems to be much more action, with faster game play, more power ups, a bigger varierty of enemies, and the number you fight at any one time. The controls however are very similar to the other games.
Some levels even have huge bosses. This is balanced by your various powerups, including missile and bomb upgrades, as well as some more interesting abilities such as invisibility. Another unique feature is that you can get repairs at certain points in some levels.
