<em>The Chaos Engine</em> is an action packed blast-em-up from the Bitmap brothers with 16 levels of carnage and chaos. All levels are open plan and viewed from above, like many other titles from the Bitmap Brothers.
There are 6 different characters to choose from who each have their own strengths, weaknesses, and special abilities.
The game is 2 player but even if you are playing alone, you choose a character for the computer to control. The AI is surprisingly good and although not as much fun as playing with someone else, it is just as capable. It collects power ups, opens doors, attacks enemies, and uses some basic strategy much like a human player would.
