You play the role of a brave swordsman called Alen. Aided by four guardians (kind of angels), you must stop the Empire's evil plans and to destroy Alcahest once again.
Alcahest is a solid action game with a lot of RPG elements. You wander the earth, killing your enemies (all combat is real time). You collect treasure and other valuables on your quest and take on the occasional boss character. When you gather enough experience (XP) from fighting, you gain extra hit points (HP). You will then have the chance to upgrade your weapons and other equipment. The RPG elements also mean you get the chance to meet and interact with a number of characters who will join your party or help you in some other way. In this way you gain new abilities and powers.
